Music has always helped us to feel our feelings and we want to be that for other people, we want to create music that helps people to feel their feelings and to make people feel a little less alone...
Jon Kresin and Amelie Eiding are a pop duo called 7000apart. They are currently based in Wisconsin, but at the time of our conversation, they were in Stockholm, Sweden. The story of the beginning of their project is compelling, but it's one they have told many times, so I'll send you over to the Our Story page on their website to read about it. Instead, we go even farther back in our conversation, as I ask them how they each started with music at the very beginning. In this conversation, you'll learn about their writing process, what important message they are attempting to convey through their music, the challenges of booking a tour, how to go about building a music community, and all sorts of interesting things about trying to make it as a full-time musician.
Some highlights of our conversation:
- The 7000apart tour schedule (6:46)
- Thoughts on building a music community (10:44)
- How did they learn to play music? (23:06)
- What's their writing process like? (25:46)
- Their latest single, "Hope" (28:24)
